Community Outreach, aka, COR is an emergency homeless shelter located at 641 Celina Rd., Tompkinsville, Monroe County, Kentucky.
The Community OutReach Inc was founded in 1983 by a group of people who saw the need to help low income families and the homeless. COR is a short-term emergency facility for homeless, domestic violence, and crisis situations.
In 1983, the old Farmer’s Service building was purchased and renovated, with part as a thrift store, and part as a food pantry. The shelter was constructed, in 1987, as an add-on to the existing building to contain a kitchen, living area, men/women’s bathrooms, two congregate bedrooms, one single bedroom, and one single bedroom for the live-in caretaker. The shelter is a 12-bed facility for eligible clients.
